Hi folks , I have posted before but I am now into my 2nd round of chemo and immunotherapy for stomach adenocarcinoma and peritonial nodules 4 days ago. ...my weight has been stable for the last 3 weeks until now I checked myself tonight and found I had lost nearly 4 lbs (1.81kg) in 4 days..I am quite big still classed as obese with a bmi of 30+  in May I was  17 ½ stone.I  am hoping it's just the chemo and change of eating habits as i now have a pyloric stent and the lack of cakes pies takeaways beer ect that is causing this and not the cancer. It's just a bit worrying as this second round has really knocked me out. the last few days being I just want to sleep and don't feel active till the after noon and evening then to awake to sleep hence the reason I am writing this at nearly 1am lol. Any thoughts please thanks..my main side effects so far have been nausea  abdominal discomfort , minor neuropathy , nothing to serious as yet ...

I wonder if it's my scales ...I think I will order a back up pair lol ...it would be the sort of luck I get ..

  • Hi  I have a completely different type of cancer….. and during my main chemo I lost 27kgs…….

My team were not that concerned. As you have highlighted our eating habits change but also the bodies metabolism gets rather confused.

The main thing you do is talk this through with your clinical team to get their reassurances.

I see you have been posting in our Stomach cancer support group…… it would be worth bring this up in that group as you will get experiences from people on the exact same pathway……

    All the best.
