Hi All
I am new to this forum, so here is a bit of history.
I am 60 years old now and I was diagnosed with Stage 4b Grade 2 Endometrial Cancer over a year ago, and have since been through a Full Hysterectomy, and Chemo therapy which ended in November 2023.
The tumour has gone, but the Cancer is still here, and I have been on a treatment of Megace since January 2024.
I have been back to working full time, 8.0am to 4.0pm, for a few months, working two days home three days in the office. I live in Northamptonshire and work in Milton Keynes, which is a round trip of 64 miles. I do get fatigued at work and I do feel myself doing the "nodding Dog" at my desk. This Wednesday gone, however, 14th Aug, on my way home from work, I briefly fell asleep at the wheel, and found myself drifting to the other side of the road. It really shook me up, as I have never done this before in all my years of commuting too and from work.
Has anyone experienced this? Is there advice can you give me? Should I be asking if I should be working from home more days a week?
I have got to see the GP again to see if there are any deficiencies I have.
Sorry for the long waffle.
Thank you for reading.
Lesley
Hi Lesley/Greebo and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
That must have been a very scary experience to fall asleep at the wheel. It's not something that's happened to me but I thought I point you in the direction of the womb cancer forum which is a great place to ask questions and share experiences with others who have a similar diagnosis to you.
To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
