Hello I am 28 years old and have just found a lump in my groin I have been to the doctors who have told me it’s a swollen lymph node and that it will go down within a month I just don’t know if I believe them. I am a worrier and have health anxiety but I’m sure anyone who finds a lump will be worried? I’m debating if I should go get a private scan done what’s everyone’s opinion has anyone else been in this situation I would really appreciate your responses many thanks
Hello booboo17 A warm welcome to the online Cancer Community
We all worry about changes to our body and are quite right to do so. I can't answer your question myself but have a couple of suggestions for you.
* We have a dedicated forum Ask a Nurse . By clicking on the link provided you can pose your question to a Macmillan Nurse. Please allow 2/3 days for a reply.
* For that extra re-assurance for your anxiety, give our helpline a call on 0808 808 00 00 (8am to 8pm) The team there will have some great information and support for you.
I hope the above helps.
Best wishes - Brian.
