My mum has been in Kingston hospital with pneumonia for 5 weeks now, however as the consultant has seen lumps in right lung in most recent CT scan on Thursday it is only now it is decided to refer her to the Royal Marsden hospital and Royal Brompton hospital for biopsy. The first CT scan 4 weeks ago showed no trace of cancer but now there is ! Seems a bit odd that suddenly there is a trace of cancer there now 4 weeks later. Has anyone else had a similar experience to this?
Hello ZoMac a warm welcome to the Cancer chat forum. I can't answer your question as I have a different cancer, however I can tell you that the Community is divided into different Chat rooms or forums that are cancer specific.
In view of that may i suggest you join the Lung cancer forum . . To do this lust click on the link I have provided and when the page opens up just click on "join" on the black banner at the bottom of the page. Once there you can introduce yourself and either copy and paste your post or repost it. It will then be seen by Community members who are on the same or similar path and they will be able to answer your questions.
I do hope this helps and I wish you an your mum all the best.
If I can do anything further please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi ZoMac, I am so sorry to hear about your mum and what both of you are going through, and understand what an emotional time it is for you. Regarding your mums scans maybe the first one was clear because there was nothing there or it was too small to be detected. ZoMac this has happened to me, i had a scan on my bowl and bladder which was clear then another scan 5 weeks later showed signs of cancer, and if this is what happened regarding you mum then your mums cancer has been detected very early, and that is good news, and as your mums last CT scan was on Thursday to get a referral in three days is also good news. ZoMac i hope your mum gets over pneumonia and her biopsy results are also good, please take care, Eddie
