Hi,
I am like many people out there, feeling alone. Mum is being amazing, taking all of this on when, she has her own struggles. We have been so fortunate with dad’s brain surgeon so count our blessings there. Dad has had brain surgery and I have found out today he has to have chemo and radio therapy but that his cancer can’t be cured.
are there any tips out there with how to deal with the enormity of all of this? I guess I also want someone just to chat to, who understands all of this.
thank you so much,
x
I am caring for my partner who was diagnosed in August he is bed bound with a Glioblastoma grade 4 inoperable and is not strong enough for chemo or radiotherapy. I have 2 daughters 32 and 24 and a son 27 if you need a chat anytime just message I know how hard this is xx
Hello McLaren I am so sorry to find you in this situation, I can fully understand your feelings right now.
The online Community is divided up into cancer specific chat rooms or forums. To get the best help and advice from people who are on a similar journey I would suggest you join the Brain cancer forum . To join this group just click on the link I have provided and then once the page opens up click on "join" at the bottom of the page. You can then either copy and paste your post or just repost it.
You may also want to join both the Carers only forum and possibly the Emotional support forum . Again to join these groups the instructions are as above. Yu will find plenty of like minded Community members there.
For extra support do you have a Maggie's centre near you - these are cancer support centres that offer help and support to you and your family - to find your nearest Maggie's - 0300 123 1801, or enquiries@maggiescentres.org or www.maggiescentres.org
Don't forget for anything - help support or just a chat our helpline is open on 0808 808 00 00 (8am - 8.00pm 7 days a week). There are some great people you can speak to at the end of the telephone.
If I can do anything else for you please let me know. I do wish you, Dad and family all the best.
Kind Regards - Brian.
