MRI results

Hi everyone, looking for some advice for a very worried mum of four young children. About 8 weeks ago i found a lump at the back of my knee which was pea sized, within weeks it had grown to about 4cms. I went to my GP who referred me for an urgent ultrasound, the doctor at the ultrasound said as the mass was so elongated he couldn’t see it it was connected to my joint and sent me for an urgent MRI two weeks later. During this wait I went back to my GP as it had grown again. The lump is painless, hard and not easy to move, all bad signs I know. I had a call today to see my GP urgently, I have an appointment on Monday. They wouldn’t tell me anything over the phone (it was a receptionist). I’m left now with a weekend of worrying about what Monday holds, I’m guessing that as they want to see me face to face I can expect bad news? The wait is awful and trying to act normal for my children is even more awful.

thank you.

  • Hello  and a warm welcome to the MacMillan Community

I am so sorry to read your post and can fully understand your anxiety and worry - it's the not knowing that's the issue and having to wait for your results over the weekend is no help.

Once you know more on Monday please come back to us with your results - let's hope it's good news - but whatever the results are we are here for you as a Community and will be able to take you step by step where ever your journey takes you. It may be an idea to join our Emotional support forum . You can do this by clicking on the link I have provided and when the page open up you can click on the black banner at the foot of the forum. You can then introduce yourself by either copying and pasting your post or re posting it.

I hope this helps. If you need anything else please don't hesitate to contact me. Good luck with your results on Monday.

    Best wishes - Brian.
