Hello,

I’m due to start chemo on Thu and it is called doxorubicin.

I'm already debilitated through cramps in my stomach and I have a stent.

Can anyone give me their experiences of having a stent ( drained bile duct) through a PTC as I find it hard to move about and have done since it was fitted.

I have to weigh up whether I can take feeling any worse than I already do by Thu and I just woukd like to hear other peoples experiences.

Thank you for reading

  • Hi

I had a look at your profile, to see what type of cancer you have but you haven't completed it yet. However, I can see that you've joined the pancreatic cancer group so I'm assuming that that is the type of cancer that you have.

Can I recommend that you post this question in the pancreatic cancer group as you'll then connect directly with others who have had a stent fitted and who can share their experiences with you.

If you'd like to do this just click on the link I've created which will take you straight to the group. You can then start a new post in the same way as you did here.

When you have a minute, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
