Hi, I recently finish radio and chemo (cisplatin) and now in full remission :-), after treatment finished I started getting static shocks when touch metal, initially I thought this maybe down to the PEG tube collecting a charge but continued after removal and has carried on since! Has anyone else experienced something similar, its not a nerve sensation it has audible crack when it happens which is frequent!

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

That's great news that you're in remission after having radiotherapy and chemotherapy. I've had both of those treatments but haven't suffered from static shocks since finishing.

The online community is divided up into different support groups so it might be an idea to also post this in the group specific to your type of cancer. You haven't mentioned what type of cancer you have but, if you let me know, I can give you a direct link to the relevant group. Alternatively, you could look through this list and choose the appropriate one.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi latchbrook, thanks for the reply, I've popped something into my profile, like yourself I've had the mix of treatments and surgery, hope the results come through soon and are the positive outcome we all hope for :-)
