Hi I was wondering if anyone has any experience taking prednisolone with high dose cyclosporine? My partner had a stem cell transplant last year after a relapse of leukemia. She then relapsed post transplant but had more chemo and is in remission. She is however suffering gvhd since September and was on 55mg prednisolone per day. This has been reduced to 10mg per day. She also takes high dose cyclosporine. She was suffering badly with anxiety and her gp prescribed buspirone and diazepam. Her mood has gradually been slipping and I have been her full time carer for 3 years solely on my own. We always had a wonderful relationship right up until this week. She suddenly accused me of domestic abuse and was acting highly agitated and was petrified of me for no reason. She finally ended the relationship on Wednesday after 6 years, and is refusing to speak with me she wants absolutely nothing to do with me. I'm absolutely devasted. I've read some effects of each of these drugs which can all cause mood swings etc. But it's so severe I wanted to find out if anyone else has been on these drugs or cared for someone who may have had a similar experience? She hasn't behaved like that with anyone else. I don't want to lose her now after everything. If she passes away from this disease I'll have to lose her all over again and I can't bear it
Hi Samson Manx welcome to the community but sorry to hear about the challenges you are dealing with.
I have had two Allo (donor) Stem Cell Transplants so can understand the drug issues, prednisolone and cyclosporine are horrible drugs and I had a hard time with them.
We do have a dedicated Stem cell transplant group but I am not aware of anyone in the group who has had to deal with the challenges you are dealing with, with your partner.
