I've been struggling with the interview stages of recruitment process, to secure my first job. My Dad has cancer and is beginning treatment soon. I don't know if it could be a contributing factor, like some sort of distraction.
I'm kind of relating it back to when I failed all of my AS Level exams, while my aunt had cancer. (Mocks seemed to go OK and previously I had been completely fine with GCSE exams on higher tier papers).
Has anyone else had this? Or know of some relationship between these situations?
I have no idea if there is any specific relationship between this but I know that stressful situations can cause this problem.
I come from an education background (Further Education) and over my years I had students who had family going through cancer and they did find that the anxiety of the situation did make a difference to various aspects of life……. including preparing and going to interviews.
