Mouth cancer diagnosis

I was informed last Wednesday that the biopsy taken from my tounge was cancerous. I need to have a scan to see if there has been any spread to my lymph nodes. From what I have read if there has been no spread the treatment is surgery only. I would really appreciate your comments.

Ps not sure if I may I have posted this in another sub group by mistake.

Hi Mick 28.12.22 you did indeed post this in the Head and neck cancer group and I see you have received a reply.

i e just had a tonsillectomy got cancer on tonsils had them removed 8 weeks ago had to have all my teeth removed last week start radiotherapy soon i’m absolutly petrified of more pain i can not sleep and everything going round i. my head

Hi Tannis. Sorry to hear that you are having so much pain following your operations. Have you reached out to your CNS to ask for a review of your pain medication? I can't really comment on the radiotherapy side of things as I only needed surgery and no follow up treatments but I am sure that someone will be along shortly that will comment. As well as your physical health you.also need to cover the emotional side of things this can be arranged via your gp or Macmillan nurse. Very best wishes for your upcoming radiotherapy.

I didn't really need to contact my. nurse but my wife had breast cancer at the start of the year and her nurse was nice and friendly but trying to get in touch with her was a nightmare. Is there anyone who can be your advocate rather than you expending energy on these tasks when you should be resting?
