Hi
My mom. Recently been in hospital with a very nasty rash and blisters and scabs all over her legs and arms. Also developed infection resulting in hospital stay. Recently finished 6weeks bcg treatment for bladder cancer. Nobody really seems to know what caused rash. Her skin still extremely red and itchy. Got hospital appointment with dermatology next week. Due for another cystscopy to check bladder but I've delayed appointment due to her feeling so unwell. Any advice?
Hi Redwine40
Your mom's skin rash sounds very unpleasant and I'm guessing, that if you're asking here, her hospital team haven't been able to solve it for her.
I can't help with any shared experience but I thought I'd suggest that you also post this is the bladder cancer group, which I can see you're a member of, as then you'll connect directly with others who may have experienced this when being treated for that type of cancer.
It would be great if you could pop something about your mom's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

I had a mastectomy in 2012. I had an implant that got infected. Was told by Doctor that skin would have to be grafted from my back because my skin was thin. I decided to walk around until 2022 before I decided to have the implant again. My doctor said by waiting it thickened my skin and a graft from my back was not necessary. I have a inflator now stretching my skin. It has been over 2 months. I am due to get the implant January 10th 2023. Now I am hearing about all the future pain I may encounter after the reconstruction . I wish like hell that I had left well enough alone.
