ended radiotherapy for lung cancer and problematic lymph nodes at beginning of October. I’m also on meds for heart problems that also started around the same time as my diagnosis. Because of theart issues chemo was ruled out. All my heart meds caused dizziness, and thankfully now they’ve either been stopped of dosage reduced . I know tiredness and dizziness are a by product of coming off radiotherapy but I wonder if I’ll get back to normal, along with my anxiety it’s the only problems (apart from the cancer still) and I can’t really do much. Apart from the odd meltdown I’m doing ok and mostly feel ok in myself . have a good appetite (hollow legs at the moment and putting on a few pounds), I just want to feel a bit normal….obviously not allowed to drive because of the dizziness so have lost my independence (thank goodness for hubby being my chauffeur)
Hi Lindylou2022 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
Feeling tired and dizzy all the time must be very unpleasant. I'm about to start radiotherapy this week and have been warned about feeling tired.
As you know, the online community is divided up into different support groups so I hope you don't mind me recommending that you also join and post in the lung cancer group which is a great place to ask questions and share experiences with others who have that type of cancer.
If this is something that you'd like to do, just click on the link I've created which will take you directly there. You can then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
x
Thanks. Have updated my profile, hope it’s better . The dizziness maybe from the heart drugs (I’ve been thru the wringer this year). Won’t lie, radiotherapy withdrawal was worse than I thought it would be, but I got thru it. The worse thing about treatment was how cold the scanner room was (I don’t do cold) but I know they have to keep it chilly for the equipment. Good luck with your treatment….take a jumper for after, you’ll need it
