Hi,
my mum (60) is waiting for results of her tumor and mass to see if it's cancer. It's been just over two weeks since all tests were completed. I am meant to be going to london for a week now and I (daughter aged 24) wanted to cancel going as I'm so worried and I want to be there for my mum who only has my dad and her parents around who are also Ill. she told me not to cancel and that it would make her happiest to go. My issue is I think she won't tell me if she's diagnosed and I think she's so worried that she needs people around her. What do you think is the best thing for me to do. When I message her asking if she's okay and double checking dad says it worries her that I'm worrying about her. So I'm not going to but also I want to be there for her. If anyone has any advice on how to handle this.
Hi Ilovemymum98 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
Waiting for the results of tests can be a very worrying time and it's natural to want to know how best to support your mum.
As you know, the online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you also join and post in the family and friends group where you can ask others how they have best supported their mum.
To join just click on the link I've created which will take you directly there. You can then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
