Hi everybody,

My dad is due to start chemo soon. I don't live near him and my mother and feeling a little Anxious. I was hoping to go to be with them when the chemo starts. Can anyone recommend anything I can do to help them. Anything to make his life easier.

  • Hi , sorry to hear about your dad going into treatment.

When I went into my chemo in late 2013 and further treatments lasting over 2 years both my daughters and 4 granddaughters lived 3 hours and 9 hours drive away from us.

When going through chemo your dad and your mum are passengers they have to trust in his team and take each day as it comes. i found simple communication was all I needed, whatsapp, cards, facetime with my daughters and the kids. During part of my treatment I had a total of 95 days in hospital so we found that we got into a rhythm and actually did ok.
