Can anyone be able to give me some advice.. im trying to help and and support someone whos been diagnoised with cancer.. their current consultant wants to start chemo asap but he wants to move closer to his family and loved ones but it means moving areas and health boards.. will he need to go through the whole process again or will the current health board/team just pass on his notes and care plan to the new board/team and his treatment continue as planned
Cheers
Hi Emilylilz and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
When I was diagnosed with melanoma, I too moved house so wanted to change my consultant to one in a hospital nearer to where I lived. This wasn't a problem, but I had finished all my treatment and I was just having regular check-ups.
It might be an idea to post your question in the ask a nurse section of the online community as no one has come forward to share experiences of moving home while having treatment.
Wishing you and your friend all the best
