Five years ago I lost my hubby (45) to cancer, he had it for 7 years so sad to say I am pretty clued up on the cancer pathways and treatment times.
after he died I moved counties to a more rural area with a much smaller hospital and I started with stomach pain and thinking it was either an old hernia
or a large gallstone I have causing the problem I went to the GP.
I had a scan and they said it was suspected endometrial cancer. That was three months ago and to date I have had several biopsies, MRI and CT scans and have still
not been told whether it is confirmed if it is cancer or not. I haven't even seen the consultant in person, or been able to discuss my symptoms. I had no gynelogical symptoms
whatsoever, but they have put on my paperwork the reason for referral was post menopausal bleeding (which never happened).
My mum caught coivd in the local hospital two months ago after a minor fall and passed away not knowing whether I had cancer or not. The strain on my family is horrendous.
I have today contacted PALs at the hospital to ask for some answers. I am beginning to assume that as the hosp haven't bothered to tell me either way that I don't have cancer after all.
I just dont know what to think.
Hi Matilda Grace,I’m so sorry that you are going through this. It’s really not good enough to not let you know what is going on.I’m so sorry about your mum,I lost mine in January.I hope PALS is on the case now and you get some answers. The communication leaves a lot to be desired especially since the pandemic.Love and best wishes Jane x
Matilda Grace that's terrible news hon. You're doing the right thing by contacting Pals. You've sometimes got to create a stir to get things done. As you say you know a bit about the care pathways so you know you should have been told by now. Could your GP find out for you? Fingers crossed you find out soon him so you can get your mind straight about what's going on. Keep us updated xx
