I'm due to start FLOT chemo on Thursday. I'm terrified of side effects and becoming ill once I get home. Should I ask to stay in hospital overnight just for the 1st time for safetys sake. Julia
Hi Julia
It's natural to be scared about the possible side effects of chemo. I'm on a different type to you and have just had my second cycle. Touch wood, I've not had any of the serious side effects, except for loosing my hair, and have just felt a bit under the weather for the first week of the three between cycles.
I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also post this question in the oesophageal cancer group, which I can see that you've joined, as you'll then connect directly with others who will have had FLOT. Clicking on the link I've created will take you there if you wanted to do this.
It would be great if you could pop something about about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
