Hi everyone and my sincere sympathy and concern for every carer going through this. Our - my husband and mine - experience has been really fast: from minor symptoms and general unwellness to emergency tracheostomy. And now palliative care as the only option. Not restricting myself to this particular cancer - just the experience of day to day care when your loved one is terminal; the frustrations, the anger, the total life change and how to deal with it?
Hi Daisybear and I see it’s your first post so welcome to the community but sorry to your husbands story and the challenges you are dealing with. A cancer diagnosis like this in the family can be such a stressful time but I do hope you will find the community a safe place to get support and ask your questions.
When it comes to the practical and emotional challenges of supporting someone you may also benefit from joining our general Carers only and Supporting someone with incurable cancer groups where you will connect with others in the same position.
If you'd like to connect in with a group click on the Green (Bold) link I have created above. Then once the group page opens click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."
You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘new post’ by clicking in the box near the top right with + New or + (Depending on the device you are using) and you are ready to go. You could copy and paste the text from this post into your new post.
