I had a port fitted 3 years ago and I think it took a few weeks to feel completely comfortable - it is an alien to the body after all. Hopefully it will settle, but do ask your doctor about it if it is actually painful. Recently I lost some weight and I noticed the port felt more obvious and could feel uncomfortable if I caught it with a towel or something - but seems to have settled again. Hopefully the benefits of having a port outweigh any discomfort, mine has been a godsend.
