Im new to this and wondered if anyone could help?
Is someone on here going through radiotherapy or been through radiotherapy and happy to offer some support to my mum?
She's recently had a 12 hour operation to remove large tumours from her mouth and throat and is due radiotherapy next week for 6 weeks.
At the recent PET scan it has shown some hot spots and she has hit an all time low.
She's feeling really down and is now questioning whether to go through with radiotherapy at all.
I feel useless and have no idea what to say as I have no experience and can't even imagine what she is going through mentally.
Can anyone offer some advise?

I'm sorry to read how your mum is feeling at the moment. It sounds like a very difficult time for you both.
As you know the community is divided up into different support groups so I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also join the head and neck cancer group as this will give you the opportunity to connect directly with others who have had radiotherapy for the same type of cancer as your mum.

It would be great if you could pop something about your mum's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway.
