Hi Annabell,
Yes, has happened to me. After it happened, they prescribed 5 days of injections after treatment to boost white cells, as my body obviously reacts to chemo drug by not producing enough white cells. The injections are self administered in my case, and have worked. Now just have to find how to stop my blood platelets dropping!
Good luck with next treatment.
Thanks for replying I will definitely ask about this next week good luck to you x
Hi I have the same problem they took me off my main chemo drug when I had covid I was terrified that I was missing out. My platelets are always low and am going to ask if I can have and infusion to help can't see why not. Let you know how I get on.
PS my name is Kay
Hi
yes this happened to me
once my blood count was low and they kept me on the chemo tablets as I was also having radiotherapy but I was given antibiotics as well
the second time my chemo cycle was delayed by a week
I think it must be fairly common or they wouldn’t do regular blood tests
hope your white blood cells are back to where they should be
Thanks they are let’s see about the next ones good luck
Hi I can never understand the blood test what has your count got to be I am being treated in Spain never get explained anything
