Last Wednesday we were given the devastating news My stepdad has 2 weeks to 3 months to live. Hearing those words in the consultation will stay in my head forever. How can he go from thinking he pulled a muscle to being diagnosed with colon, liver and lung cancer. I’ve done nothing but research to try anything possible, so we bought a rife machine. I set it up set all the frequencies then read through the booklet to discover it can overload the liver. I’m so scared that this will shorten his life does anyone have any experience with using these machines. Thank you for taking time to read my post xx

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that your stepdad has only been given a few months to live and it's natural that you want to do all you can to prolong his life.

I don't have any experience using a Rife machine so I searched the online community to see if anyone else has mentioned it. Unfortunately I haven't found any previous posts on this subject but did find this reply from one of the nurses in the ask a nurse section of the online community to a poster who had asked about using it as well as other alternative treatments. To read the response just click on the link.

You may also want to look at this information from Cancer Research which states "There is no reliable evidence that the Rife machine works as a cure for cancer."

If you decide that you still want to go ahead and use it it's very important that you speak to your dad's consultant before you do so to check that it will be okay.

As you know, the community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you also join the supporting someone with incurable cancer group which is a safe and supportive place for carers and friends and families of people with a terminal diagnosis to discuss their emotions as well as practical issues about palliative care.

To join just click on the link I've created and then join in the same way as you did here.. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your stepdad's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
