I had an abnormal US last week (for unrelated reason). Found 6cm irregular mass on my liver. Have been referred urgently and am awaiting MRI. Am so worried it is going to be cancer….I have no other symptoms but GP said they couldn’t tell what it was so referred to MDT - consultant agrees it needs further investigation. Surely if it was begin they would be able to be more reassuring??

Sorry to hear about what you are going through. From what you say there is something that needs checked out. It may be cancer in which case it was really lucky that you had this scan and found it before something else happened and if you need treatment it gets started sooner - this is what they will check out first for this reason. On the other hand it might not be cancer in which case there is a question of it there is something else that needs dealt with.
In my wife's case they gynea was totally convinced all her problems were cancer related; subsequently found out she also had a massive infection and that took a lot of work to fix - even before the cancer treatment started. Still 6 years down the line and still going strong.
