Hello Everyone, I’m new here and exploring options on how to make this journey a bit easier. My mum has been diagnosed with cervical cancer, we’re on a wait atm to find out her results. We had a call to say she needs to go in for radio therapy. But we know nothing else as yet. It’s so hard seeing her so upset and worried. I keep hoping it’s early and we can fight it. I’ve never felt the hurt and pain like it. I’m so scared and anxious. I’m trying to remain positive to help her but it’s so hard when all I want to do is break down :(
Hi and a warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is an informative and supportive place.
Waiting for tests, results and then treatment can be an anxious time but hopefully you'll be able to connect with others in the community who can help you.
As you know the community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you also join the cervical cancer group, where you can ask questions and share experiences about that type of cancer and it's treatment, and also either the carers only group, if you're your mum's carer, or the family and friends group if you're not. Both of these last two groups are safe and supportive places where you can discuss your emotions and worries with others who have a loved one living with cancer.
If you'd like to join these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your mum's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
x
