Hi my hubby has just been diagnosed with lung and prostate cancer. We are in limbo right now as we are waiting for biopsy results. We have heard that when it has affected the lymph nodes it’s hard to recover. This is really worrying as he has cancerous lymph nodes in his chest. Head is working overtime don’t know what to think.

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read that your husband has just been diagnosed with lung and prostate cancer and I know what a difficult time this will be for you both.

As you know the online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the prostate cancer group which is a great place to ask questions and share experiences about this type of cancer and it's treatment. I'm not sure from your post if the lung cancer is a separate cancer or is a secondary from the prostate cancer. If it is a separate cancer then I'd like to recommend the lung cancer group and if it's a secondary then the secondary lung cancer group.

Another group which I think you'll find useful to join is the carers only group which is a safe and supportive place to discuss your worries with others who have a loved one living with cancer.

To join any or all of these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you feel ready, it would be great if you could pop something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
