Hey Everyone
Fairly newly diagnosed here (ccRCC) and starting my immunotherapy next week. The weight has just dropped off over the last few weeks. I've lost over a stone and I have to admit I am finding it very funny and entertaining in a quirky way.
I need new jeans and I have bought a pair today which fit now ie today.
I suddenly thought - what if the weight returns to pre-C levels? I may have a pair of really nice jeans I can't wear! Or, if immunotherapy helps restore my system to a more "normal" state, it could normalise my appetite again. Is this realistic - I reckon not but just thought I'd ask.
Thinking about apologising for silly question, but as I say at my work, "there's no silly questions". LOL

Over my long year on my blood cancer journey I lost 27kgs and went from a 40 waste down to a 36. Once treatment finished I was not eating well so was put on a high protein diet to get fuel in me............ 3 years later I had not come off my high protein diet and had put back on 24 kgs and went back up to a 38 waste but also was diagnosed as pre-diabetic....... so went on diet to take some weight off and a year on I had lost a good 20 kgs and back to a 36 waste.
One of the cancer treatment challenges that we are not told about
I was overweight but unintentionally lost 10 kg before my treatment started back in 2015, I was also diagnosed with diabetes at the same time as my cancer so as both my first treatment on targeted therapy and my next treatment of immunotherapy can affect sugar levels I carefully watched what I ate, and still do. My belief is that it’s your own eating that will affect your weight not the immunotherapy treatment.
Take care KT
Good to hear your update and great that you have made progress and that you are feeling normal again….. and your jeans still fit
