Hi has anyone been treated for  adult palliative radiotherapy under sedation or general anaesthetic.

If so could you let me know where.

Many thanks

  • Hiya,I hope you're ok...was just to say I've never heard of radiotherapy being done with sedation or anaesthetic....it's a totally painless procedure only lasting 8-12 minutes at a time....if it's because you're nervous you may be able to ask your Gp for a very low 2mg dose of diazepam for every session of radiation you have to take the edge off things

It because my dad has cerebral palsy and has spasms so unable to guarantee being still for the duration. They do it for children but his consultant says it's not done for adults but I can't see why not.

  • Ah right, sorry about that,I would still ask your GP for further advice and direction if consultant is being a pain in butt
