Does anyone have any advice on wigs, please?
I know that I am limited to a synthetic one but hopefully that will still be fine.
I would be glad to hear what to go for and what to avoid.
This evening I was offered an appointment for tomorrow morning, so this is quite short notice.
Thank you.
Hi YesMaybeNo,
You may already have gone and chosen one by now - there is a decent selection of synthetic wigs. If you havent bought one, then I suggest having a look at the various headcoverings which are available. Wigs are fine if you can wear them happily, but I know both times I have lost my hair, I have ended up rarely wearing a wig and just having loads of different head coverings - I found them comfier, less hot to wear and I could match them to clothes if i wanted to. Some people love the wigs, but I suspect a lot of us buy one and then find it is on the wig stand more than our head.
Good luck.
Hi, Thank you for your comments. I did get one yesterday. It's nice but I wish it were just for fun, not something so serious.
Hi yesmaybeno, could you tell me if got a 100 pounds towards wig?
Hi Poodle, I wasn't given any money or a voucher directly. Instead when I went to the Macmillan centre, I was invited to try on wigs and choose one. I don't know how much it cost but I assume it must have been within budget (whatever that was).
Hi yesmaybeno, thankyou for the information . Take care x
