Hi.
Looking for anyone to chat to regarding their cancer diagnosis. I have so much family support but still feel alone. I am waiting for mire scan results which seems to take for ages, and have my 1st Oncology appt next week. Can anyone tell me how their 1st appt went and how they felt after. Did you feel more at waste or settled or just as anxious.
Would be lovely to talk to anyone who feels able to
Many thanks

Hi Parklands and a very warm welcome to the online community
Having a cancer diagnosis is very hard but reaching out to this community is the start to not feeling that you're dealing with this alone as we all understand what you're going through.
The online community is divided up into different support groups so if you feel able to tell me what sort of cancer you have been diagnosed with I could give you a link directly to that group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support.
Alternatively you could look through this list of cancer specific groups and choose the appropriate one to join. Once you've joined you can introduce yourself in a new post and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.

Hi Parklands from a fellow melanoma sufferer!
Here's the link to the melanoma group. We are a friendly bunch and between us we've probably had just about every experience there is connected with melanoma.
If you'd like to join us just click on the link I've created which will take you straight there. You can then join and post in the same way as you did here.
I'll keep an eye out for you.
