Hi all

This is my first time posting here. I am currently undiagnosed with anything, but I didn’t know where else to go to for advice, so I hope that it is okay to post here.

I have an MRI booked to classify a 3x3cm pelvic lesion and I’m not sure what to expect. The consultant reviewed my ultrasound and stated it is “in a place you would not usually expect to find one”. It is on the left side of my anterior vagina wall, pressing against my ureter. I have had a cystoscopy to confirm if it is inside, or outside, because they couldn’t tell from an ultrasound. Urology confirmed there were no lesions inside.

My symptoms consist of persistent bloating and pelvic pressure, abnormal vaginal bleeding (I’m currently having a spotting phase for around 10 days now), and the constant urge to pee! Including mild incontinence.

I was wandering if anyone on here has had a mass in the same place? Up until now I have been ok but now my mind has started to come up with little niggling thoughts!

I am in my mid 20’s - so I know the risk is low, but all of my appointments have been within a few weeks of each other so I can’t help but feel there is a sense of urgency, but this may be standard practice I guess.

Thanks x

  • Hi @H201 and welcome to the Online Community. You're more than welcome to post here and share your worries.

Once Consultant's suspect anything unusual they'll set up a lot of tests such as Ultrasound, CT scan, MRI scans, Hysteroscopy and biopsies. It's known as a 2 week wait cancer screening pathway and for all of us who've been there it's a very scary time. None of us here are medical experts, we've just had the surgery and adjuvant treatments. So I hope you don't mind if I suggest you join us in the Womb cancer group where we'll be able to offer you support until your final diagnosis is made as it seems a bit unclear where the lesion is.

It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and your journey to date. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) It’s helpful to other members with a similar diagnosis who can then hopefully answer your questions. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. You can amend or update it at any time. If you’re not sure what to write, just click on my username.

If you want to ask any of us any questions please come back and do so. There's always someone around and we can offer a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold or listen to a rant, we’re here for you.

It’s always good to talk and the Macmillan Support Services provides lots of information, support, financial guidance or just a listening ear. It's free to call on 0808 808 00 00  8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Have a look to see what is available by Clicking here .

There is also an Ask an Expert section, but you should allow two working days for replies from our expert team.

Sending you welcoming hugs, B xx

    Hi B,

Thank you so much for your warm response. I had my MRI scan today so hopefully there won’t be much waiting around for the results.

I will join and check out the recommended group.

    Thank you once again x
