I was feeling low for about 2 weeks with heavy dioreha and went to the doctor on a Monday she examined me and sent me to hospital as she thought it might be appendasitus..was kept in overnight and ga x-ray.the following day it was a CT scan where they found a blockage in my bowel. I was operated on the Thurs..I was kept in for a week on various drips and tablets. on the we'd morning I got anoer CT scan and waited to be discharged but got in another night..the head doc did her rounds on the Thurs morning and said the operation went well and CT scan was clear
so I got out .the following Friday I got a phone call regarding biopsy results telling me out of the 27 nodes removed 2 had cancerous cells..so tomorrow I go for blood work and if all is good I sta chemo on Monday........I am glad I went to go ( I only ever do that when I really really have to) and thanks to my GP for sending me to hospital for which I thought was just for a check up
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
It sounds like you did the right thing in visiting your GP when you were unwell but I'm sorry to learn that you have been diagnosed with colon cancer.
I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also join and post in the bowel (colon and rectal) cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
