Hi all.
I’m off to Durness in North West Scotland in June. When I booked it in 2019, I was a fully functioning fairly fit bloke. In the interim I developed Chondrosarcoma (Developed! Sounds like I turned it into a hobby.) I’ve had to have a hind quarter amputation on my left side. The place where we’re going to is relatively isolated with fantastic beaches. Does anyone know of anyone / where that do short term mobility scooter hire. I’ve done several (loads) google searches but there doesn’t seem to be any that do short term rental. One place in Inverness are thinking of doing it in 2022. Not much use. I thought there would be loads of places but alas, no.
Any suggestions would be warmly welcomed. Oh and just to be awkward and complicate the matter. I’d prefer an off road version.
Hi , I stay in Inverness and after a quick search I could not find anything local let alone up in Durness.
We were in the city this afternoon and noticed the shopmobility office. You may want to call them as they may have some inside local knowledge.
I hope you get sorted out and enjoy your trip.
Hi Mike. Thanks for the quick reply. I’ve spoken to the Shopmobility people and City Mobility shop. Sadly, they weren’t able to offer up any suggestions.
I do hope you find something.
