Hi last year I had kidney stones last year and during scan they found small cyst and after more scans and investigation the found it to be early stage cancer, I had it removed in September successfully, and no further treatment.  I will have ultrasound every six months and CT scan every year for five years.  I wasn't offered any counseling or advice or support I've just been left, I still haven't got my head round it and because I'm not receiving chemotherapy or anything don't know who too speak too about how I feel, am I being silly.  Any advice, I'm so thankful the cancer has gone and I'm not receiving chemotherapy or anything

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

That's great news that your kidney cancer was successfully removed and you didn't need any follow up treatment.

I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you post this in the kidney cancer group, which I can see you've joined, as you'll then connect directly with others who should be able to tell you whether having counselling or not is usual after treatment for kidney cancer has finished. If you'd like to do that clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there.

It would be great if you could pop something about your journey into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
