Hello everyone I hope I've joined the right blog I'm new to all this. My dad was diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer in 2017 after going through all the chemo options available for him his treatment has now stopped and he seems to be declining week by week. So me and my husband have decided now is the right time to tell our boys 9+4) years. My question is to you all is what is the best way to go about it they are both so close to my dad since. They never got to meet my mum as she died 4 years before my eldest was born. So they have a super bond with my dad.
Hi and a warm welcome to the online community although I'm very sorry that you've had to find us.
Can I recommend this booklet from Macmillan called Talking to Children and Teenagers. It can be downloaded as a pdf or ordered as a booklet. You could also have a look through this information, again prepared by Macmillan, which gives tips to help you through the conversation.
