Sorry I'm new to this and not quite sure how to use this forum. I'm just hoping someone can help

  • Hi Karen and welcome to the community. Sorry to hear about your sister, but nice to know you are here to support her. You may want to start by joining the Breast Cancer Group . There you will find people with experience of this and will be able to answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding tests and treatments. We also have a Family and Friends Group where you will get advice and support for yourself from others with loved ones affected by cancer. Click the highlighted links to get to the groups. Any problems finding your way around, click the reply button below to ask. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

Thank you. My sister is ok so far, although it's early days. She has had surgery and is about to start chemotherapy treatment but she has a son who lives with her who has learning difficulties and doesn't fully understand or appreciate what's going on. She will have to isolate while she has her treatment but is finding it impossible to keep him in the house, so he will put her at risk during the treatment. I was hoping that maybe someone could advise if there are respite places which we may be able to use during her treatment

  • Hi again Karen. As well as posting in the groups I suggested where you will reach a bigger audience and people may have some advice for you, I would recommend you call the free Mac helpline on 0808 808 0000 ( Every day 8-8pm). You will find them very helpful and friendly and should be able to advise on what resources your sister has available. Best wishes.
