  • Hi and welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read that your son is experiencing pain after having chemotherapy. I presume that your son has told his medical team abut the side effects he's experiencing as they would want to know so that they can help if possible.

The community is divided up into cancer specific groups full of people who could possibly answer your question. I had a look at your profile, to see what sort of cancer your son has so that I could recommend a group for you to join, but I can't find any information on what a seminor tumour is I'm afraid. This link will take you to the list of the groups which you could have a look through to join the relevant one.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.

Dear latch brook long time I didn't hear from you .Through this Covid times I had to shield and now I have to stay home until 18 of January.  Since last year October I have this joint pains at my knee and both ankles . The doctors have been saying that it is a sideaffect from the immunotherapy.  At the moment I can't work full-time anymore I work 6 h 5 times a day . The surgeon was saying that I might need an operation at my knee .Hopefully this year will be a better year .

    Kind regards Afia

  • Hi

Nice to hear from you again but I'm sorry to hear that you might have to have an operation on your knee.

Are you permanently on immunotherapy or are you coming to the end of the treatment now?

Hallo latch brook I had to stop the treatment in December 2019 my scans showed that I don't have any sign of cancer . But this joint pains are too much . I have a kneebrace and wear it at work .I need to see a surgeon this year but I don't have any appointment yet

    Kind regards Afia

  • That's brilliant news that there is no sign of the cancer ! You just need to get your knee sorted now.

    Hi Vanillaslice,

It seems to be a really common side effect.  I really struggled with joint pain for months after chemo and radiotherapy, and the lower back pain was torture!  Going through a daily routine of stretching and exercises to get my strength back has made a huge difference.  It's hard, and it's boring and it takes a long time - but it's so much better than the aches and pains.

Happy ending: It's taken almost a year, but I'm even running again now.
