I am caring for my Son who is having Chemo ,he is a adult and lives alone so I feel torn between being with him and my young family at home. He doesnt want to live at mine due to Covid risks and its such a busy ,noisey household .Hes happy in his own space its just Im struggling to deal with feeling so helpless . And get very emotional when I have to leave him .

  • Hi and welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to read that your son is currently having chemo and it's perfectly natural to have the sort of feelings that you do.

I thought I'd suggest that you might like to think about joining the family and friends group which is a safe and supportive place to discuss your worries with others who have a loved one dealing with cancer. If this is something that you'd like to do, just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your son's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
