Hello. This is my first time posting.  I am 52 and was diagnosed with womb cancer mid November, which was a big shock. I've had a hysterectomy two weeks ago and will be having more treatment in a few weeks as my cancer was Stage 1A Grade 3. Can I ask how any of you found the very sudden onset of surgical menopause? I'm not sleeping, having hot flushes day and night, but the worst symptom is a sore, burning vulva area. I had problems with this 4 years ago and at that time was diagnosed with dermatitis. This may not be the case now, it may be vaginal atrophy, due to lack of oestrogen, have already ruled out thrush.   While I'm waiting for my next appointment, does anyone have any recommendations of how to deal with this? Been told I can't have hrt, due to cancer, but probably this is what would sort all of these things out.

Thank you for reading my very long post

  • Hello and welcome to the community , I see that you have found the womb cancer group to post in as well and have had a few replies there. As you are new to the community I don’t know if you’ve found the ask an expert tab which may be an option as well for your question. I will put a link in below to take you to the ask a nurse section just click on it and have a look.

I’m afraid I haven’t got any experience that will help, except that my hospital specialist cancer nurses are very approachable and helpful inbetween appointments if I need help.

    Take care KT
