My partner has 'C' in various places, to include stomach wall, he is having chemotherapy and started to on and off get stomach cramps, I am wondering if it is a side effect of the treatment or it has possibly spread.

We had a scan last week and get results in 2 weeks.

If he gets discomfort I always fear the worst,I know I shouldn't, but I do quietly to myself, I know this may sound a daft 'discussion' but I guess I am clutching at straws really in the hope that somebody will say, it's possibly a side effect, when deep down I know that probably won't happen.

Just worried..

  • Hi

I'm sorry to hear that the chemotherapy is giving your partner stomach cramps.

It's perfectly natural to fear that any new symptom means that the cancer has spread. Has your partner spoken to his CNS about his stomach cramps as it's important that they are made aware of anything new that happens?

I see that you haven't joined any specific groups yet and I think that you would be more likely to get replies from people who are going through the same experience as your partner if you do. You mention that one of the places your partner has cancer is in his stomach wall so I'm providing a link to the stomach cancer group.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You could then copy and paste your question from here into a new post there after selecting 'start a discussion'.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your partner's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

I hope everything goes as well as possible when you get his scan results in a couple of weeks time. I do understand how worrying waiting for results is!

  • Hey there Monto,

As you're asking about chemo and how it might affect your partner, as well as the fact he has cancer in multiple places - you may find the chemotherapy group more helpful than a specific cancer group. You can find it in the link below.

Please do join in any and all groups and discussions you feel are relevant, as everyone here wants you and your partner to get through this as well as possible.

    Take care.
