Hi everyone
I found a lump end of December I left it till march as I was convinced it was just fatty tissue!
had my referral appointment at breast clinic on 15th April. I had ultrasound, mammogram, another ultrasound, biopsy and then meeting with consultant were he told me this is highly suspicious and I just broke down.
my notes after say I have two sites, site 1 is 17mm tumour and site 2 says hypoechoic change containing microcalcifications measuring 14mm. Also say this-
there is extensive pleomorphic segmental microcalcification extends into the nipple over an AP diameter of 95mm by 35mm mediolateral and 44 mm craniocaudal in the retroareolar region. Most of the calcification is in the left upper outer quadrant,
They’ve told me itll be mastectomy as the whole area of abnormality is 95mm.
Also said from my scan my lymph nodes look normal but I know that can change.
so my biopsy results are this Tuesday coming and I’m absolutely petrified! I cried for the first couple of days after my referral and what they told me then I kind of just let it go, I’ve got two young boys 7 & 2 and I have to be strong for them but now this appointment comings up my anxiety is through the roof!
Hi Aims12 . I am not from this group so not much help, but I do know how stressful waiting for results can be. I just noticed your post was slipping by without reply, so by me giving it a bump will bring it back up again and hopefully get attention from someone with experience of this. Best wishes.
Hi Aims12
Oh gosh, it’s a horrible shock to go from thinking you had some fatty tissue to finding you need a mastectomy. I am not surprised you are finding it very difficult at the moment. Hopefully it will get easier once you know what the plan is.
I am sadly not under 50 any more but I do have breast cancer. I am one of the community champions on the breast cancer forum. You might like to join us and post there as it’s rather busier than this forum. Breast cancer forum
