Hi, I had early stage triple negative breast cancer which was treated in 2021. I luckily conceived naturally in 2025 and gave birth Nov 2025. Managed to breastfeed from the non-affected boob. I’ve just been told by my breast surgeon that he recommends I stop breastfeeding after a year so that I can do an MRI and mammogram.
Just wondered if anyone has had similar experience / was told the same?
Hi ZestyLife0980 Sorry you haven’t had a reply to your post yet, I hope you do not mind me coming to chat to you. My name is Chelle and I am one of the online community champs.
Do you feel ready to stop breastfeeding? If not then I would seek a 2nd opinion. Have you spoken to your breast nurse about this. I would give them a ring, I know they will be able to advise you on this.
Sorry I do not know the answer, but hopefully someone who has had a similar experience will be along to chat with you soon.
