Looking for advice please.
I started chemo in March 24 and my periods stopped. I finished chemo and radiotherapy in September 24 and blood tests showed I’d done through the menopause and not had a period since. Today I had period pains and started bleeding. Has anyone else experienced this? X
I had chemo in 2021 and my periods returned 2 years later in 2023. I didn't have blood tests to check any hormone levels in between though so no one ever classed me as menopausal at that time. It could be that when you were tested you were experiencing medical menopause, but not full menopause. My periods were regular at first, but now they are quite irregular and I think I'm experiencing perimenopause (and all the fun that comes with it!). I get the impression that it's a very much a grey zone when it comes to this topic. Can you make an appointment with your gynaecologist to discuss things? x
