Found a strange feeling lump right next to my nipple so Gp referred me to clinic. Went last Thursday and they did a mammogram then ultrasound.
During ultrasound they said what I had felt was normal but they spotted another area of concern. They didn’t say it was a lump. They also said 4 lymph nodes were swollen in my armpit. Took biopsies there and then of breast and lymph node. Added markers too.
Then had another mammogram and they then said I needed to return to clinic this Tuesday for a stereostatic core biopsy. They said they didn’t know what it is but I can’t help thinking with the speed it’s moved and all the tests being done it must be cancer.
They added more markers on Tuesday and took about 8 more biopsies. I’m now waiting for results and as everyone says it’s horrible waiting! Just wanted to know if anyone had similar. I’m just so shocked that they found something completely different to what I had originally gone in for!
I was called back for a 3D mammogram and ultrasound with biopsy of a suspicious lump that I couldn't feel. I was told at the time(beginning of Sept) that it was highly likely to be cancer. Result a week later confirmed hormone driven cancer. Admitted 2weeks later for wide local excision lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy. I have 2 wounds of a couple of inches and I'm waiting fir the results. I am confident they have got it all and it's early stage 2. I hope it turns out to be negative for you but if not try not to think the worst and we're here to support you
Hugs to you x
It is indeed the horrible waiting. I have been there 3 months ago. I had all the negative thoughts popping out in my head. Eventually was diagnosed with cancer and gone through surgeries and now in recovery. My advice to you is to try and distract yourself with anything else. Work kids shopping etc. and every time a negative thought comes in try to push it away. Because nothing is confirmed yet. Best of luck with the results. It’s not easy but you’ve got this!
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
