Hi , I’m post op and just been given the “all clear “
I’m so thankful .
just wondered what this next stage will feel like ?
I’ve got a work meeting today about phased return and I’m about to get my appointments for radiotherapy which I have been told Can make you quite tired .
Should I go back or wait until the end of this cycle ?
what are people’s thoughts on Tamoxifen ? Please any advice would be really helpful
Thanks ️
Hi there,
First of all, congratulations on getting the “all clear” — that’s truly amazing news! It sounds like you're stepping into this next stage with a good mindset, which will definitely help.
When it comes to radiotherapy, yes, fatigue is a common side effect. Everyone experiences it differently, though; for me, it started as a mild tiredness in the afternoons, and by the end of the cycle, I felt more consistently drained. If you have the option to take things slower at work or work fewer hours, it could help you balance both without overdoing it. A phased return sounds like a great idea — you can always reassess once you’ve started radiotherapy and see how you feel.
As for Nolvadex (Tamoxifen), I had my doubts at first, especially after reading about potential side effects. But my experience with it was positive overall. Initially, I had some mild hot flashes and mood swings, but they leveled out after the first couple of months. I’ve also found comfort in knowing it’s helping to reduce the risk of recurrence. It’s important to make sure you’re using only high-quality Nolvadex (Tamoxifen), as the effectiveness and safety can vary between brands. Staying active, eating well, and reaching out when I needed advice made a big difference for me. If you ever feel overwhelmed by symptoms, don’t hesitate to talk to your doctor about adjusting the dosage or managing side effects.
Wishing you all the best with this next phase! You’re already doing so well by thinking ahead and planning for what’s to come.
