Hi everyone, this is difficult, I didn't find this group until a few days ago. My wife of 37 years was diagnosed in February 2024, after her first symptoms in December 2023 and operation in January 2024. Another operation followed in April 2025, was so brave and excepting while I continually told myself they had made a mistake and everything would work out....she has now passed away last month after spending her last year with me at home in a hospital bed unable to move or speak. She was so brave throughout that i doubt I would have been as brave in her position. I was with her when she passed in the early hours, my fears for her of what death would look like when it happened was wrong, it was calm quiet and peaceful, she took a breath and then quiet. I look upon it as her only escape from this disease and in the end death said she had suffered enough and I didn't want to agree, but for her I had too. The grief is with me always, I talk to her and even provide her answers, I hope that doesn't sound worrying its just I talk to her and I know what she would say in return. I know things will improve and seeing my wife go through the battle with this disease gives me strength to know what ever I may face in life is nothing in comparison.
