I was diagnosed with a rectoprostatic fistula in May 25 , following radiotherapy treatment in August 24 , for Prostate cancer, i have been asymptomatic , while on nitrofurantoin antibiotics since being diagnosed.
I’m hoping to avoid surgery to have a defunctioning colostomy, and my colorectal consultant looked into ways that might help heal the fistula, but really to no avail , I’ve had a recent MRI scan (6 months after the original) to see how the fistula is doing, and apparently although no worse , it unfortunately compares the same as before.
Im really reluctant to go down the surgery route if at all possible ! Iam reaching out for anyone out there who can help and advise please ! Many thanks Dave
