  • Hi loki balls7b3768,

Thanks for getting in touch. My name is Sarah and I’m one of the cancer information nurse specialists.

That’s great news that the cancer has responded well to the treatment you have had. It can feel surreal being given this information after a diagnosis so it’s understandable to question what you have been told. Some consultants use the term remission.

You may have also had scans carried out which doesn’t show any further signs of cancer as well as a physical examination.

It would be a good idea to get back in touch with your colorectal team and ask what this means for going forward.

They should be able to give you details about whether you need any further treatment and what your follow up plan looks like.

But from what you have written, it’s sounds very positive and reassuring.

I really hope this information was helpful.  Please know, you can always give us a call to talk things through further.

    Take care and best wishes,

    Sarah (Cancer Information Nurse Specialist)
