The charity Look Good Feel Better run workshops where they offer step by step advice about things like coping with the loss of eyebrows and eyelashes. They also have tutorials that may be useful.
Another charity, Cancer Hair Care, has information about coping with the loss of eyebrows and eyelashes which looks like it’s worth reading through. I’m not sure if they recommend specific places or brands, however they do mention lots of helpful information and tips. For example, there are brands of false eyelashes designed specifically for people who’ve had chemotherapy. They also recommend a patch test to make sure you’re not sensitive to any glue used for false eyelashes and to use one that’s latex free if you do have any sensitivities. And being able to try products before you buy them.
You could consider joining one or a few of our forums here. There may be others coping with similar things who’d be happy to share their own knowledge and experience.
I hope this information helps to point you in the right direction. Sometimes it can be good to talk through what’s happening with us. On our helpline we offer a variety of support where you can talk through what’s going on.
Take care and best wishes,
Karla (Cancer Information Nurse Specialist)
