Side effects

  • Dear @jizz

Thank you for getting in touch with Macmillan Cancer Support and the Online Community. My name is Gillian and I’m one of the Cancer Information Nurse Specialists on the Macmillan Support Line.

Letrozole is a hormone therapy used to treat oestrogen receptor (ER) positive breast cancer in people who have been through the menopause. It works by reducing the amount of oestrogen in the body, helping to prevent the growth of breast cancer cells.

Side effects from Letrozole can vary from person to person, and some people do not experience any at all. Many side effects, if they do occur, can be managed with support. It’s important to speak with your healthcare team if you notice any symptoms, so they can assess and help you manage them appropriately.

I hope this information is helpful. Sometimes a two-way conversation can be more beneficial, so please don’t hesitate to call us. Speaking with one of our nurses may allow you to explore your situation in more detail and get answers to any further questions you may have.

    Warm regards,
    Gillian Greenway
